Express Yourself

Following up on Part 1 of Express Yourself: Writing and Drawing Workshop, Amy J. Barry – award-winning writer, certified expressive arts educator, and Branford resident – will return to Gather to expand on the work done in the February class.

Amy will use creative prompts, exercises, and art materials to help you get your creative juices flowing and experience the joy of writing and drawing from the intuitive, imagistic right-side of the brain. This is an opportunity to take time out to get playful, and reflect on one’s own journey in a supportive group environment. Previous writing or drawing experience is not required.

Please bring notebook or journal and writing implement, and oil pastels—or they’ll be provided. This workshop will be held on Saturday, March 21 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Gather.

About Amy J. Barry: A professional, working journalist for more than three decades, Amy is completing a book of poetry inspired by the aging process of her parents. She has been facilitating expressive art and writing workshops in Connecticut for almost a decade. For out more about Amy at www.aimwrite-ct.net.
